Diego Simeone has urged Joao Felix to prove himself if he wants to return to the Atletico starting line again.
Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone has urged Joao Felix to show more than he is if he wants to return to the starting XI. As reported by Mundo Deportivo on Saturday.
Joao Felix has started the season well. But the form fell in the latter until becoming a substitute and did not start in the past 4 games, playing as a substitute in the second half instead of Antoine Griezmann in the 0-2 defeat by Real Madrid, which Simeone has urged the 22-year-old forward to show more if he wants to return to the starting line-up ufabet.
‘I always understand everything. I am open to all and most importantly the team and Joao are important,’ Simeone said of the Portuguese forward.
‘He has to repeat what he did on the day at the Bernabeu in five of the 45 minutes he has.’
‘Wonderful second half. He showed all the abilities he had. And I hope he repeats it many times because he is the player we need,’ said the Atletico trainer.
Simeone said: “He is a very good footballer, the same thing happens with Portugal where many times he does not start, but he does finish the games.
“With all the players, I look to improve them by thinking about what the team needs. I understand that the best way to grow is by working. Joao has conditions that just by seeing him, you realise he is a great player.”
